Pat Hutchinson
The Paris Kollection Human Elder Bio
Pat lives in Glencoe, Ontario.
She has been blessed with 74 trips around the sun.
Pat shares her story for The Paris Kollection:
I was born in Toronto, Ontario. I arrived on this earth with a sense of the Life force in everything. As a child, I always knew there was something way bigger than humans keeping order in the universe and in individual lives. As I grew up, I learned I was not entirely correct. Many years later I realized I had it right when I was little. I met my husband of fifty-four years at age twelve, dating when I was fifteen, and married at nineteen. Neither of us had any life experiences. We had both led sheltered lives and we were extremely naïve! By year two our children started to arrive. I stayed home with them for ten years and then went to work as a civil servant for twenty-five years. During that time, I completed my BASc in Nutrition, worked part-time as a Certified Nutritionist, and studied, learned and taught Relaxation and Guided Meditation workshops. I was dancing as fast as I could to avoid dealing with the consequences of the choices I had made.
It took several years to realize that addiction was indeed a huge challenge, and then, what could I do about it? Then it took more time to realize that I was responsible for me and the children, only. I also realized that I was right where I needed to be to learn so many lessons about life and living and loving. I found an expression of my spirituality, and my life and everyone else’s in turn, changed.
I took early retirement in 2005. A few years later, I discovered the world of horses. My life changed dramatically. I became a Practitioner in a heart-based Equine Learning modality, that assists people in getting to authenticity much more quickly than I had. I studied various energy modalities and used this new knowledge with the horses, helping them to clear the energies they took on from the people they worked with. This work fills my heart with joy and spills into my everyday life. I continue to do this energy work and I trust that the horses and Spirit will guide humanity to a more compassionate, empathetic way of living.
Looking back, I see the beauty of the path I’ve walked, the life lessons I’ve learned and the growth I’ve achieved. The main challenge I have had has been to trust my intuition and my innate wisdom. At this stage in life, I mostly do what I enjoy. I seldom do things that do not feed my soul. This is predominantly through being of service to other beings in ways that I feel competent. It brings me much joy to share time with my grandchildren, to share their ups and downs. These wonderful beings choose to be with me and are interested in my views on issues that affect their lives.
I hope the impact of my life is a living memory of the power of allowing Spirit to run one’s life. That means tuning in, listening, and then acting on inspired impulses.

We asked what were some of the societal constructs about aging that she would like to see evolve, Pat shared: I would love to see people looking at the elders and seeing the inner beauty and wisdom that has usually been achieved through overcoming difficulties. I would love to not have younger people call me dear. I find this to be very condescending. It would be lovely if people understood that being hard of hearing or slower in speech or movement does not equal imbecile. It simply means the individual has lived more years and moved through more of life’s challenges and these take a toll on the physical body.
